A surfing we will go.....

so today we succeded very successfully at surfing. the first time Kallen got a wave he stood up!!!! he was meant to be a surfer. me on the other hand was having a bit of trouble with the wider board. i couldn't really paddle my little arms on the either side they just didn't reach very well. me and my little arms hahaha. but i did manage to catch a few and stand up. its actually alot easier then ppl say it is. you just get very tired really fast. your whole body has to work at get out and on that wave. its very cool tho. we are goign down to the beach tomorrow to catch some photos. we didnt want to bring our camera along because we would have had to leave it on the beach. we didnt want to get it stolen. but tomorrow we will try our best to capture some photos with the intructor we had. so we are very happy to finally say that we have tried surfing. i think if we would have lived by the coast while we were out here would would have been pros!!!!!

Good-bye Canberra well maybe see you later

so we have offcially left our little charney haven. we had couple of wonderful good-bye dinners with freinds and family. our good friends from the church organized a meal at this beautiful little thai restaurant in the city. it was a good little crowd and the food was fantastic. thanks to Dan and Shoebz for getting that together. we will miss our friends alot. and the church we had come to call home.they came to the bus stop to see us off at 5:30 am. good mates we have there. they are troopers. not the brightest bunch that early in the morning. I myself was hiding under shades (when it was still dark that early in the morning) becasue the night before we had the worst job of saying good by to the magnificant McRobs!!!!!! they thru a wonderful meal for us with all the extended family that we have grown so fond of. we had 9adults and 5 kids it was a great group. we even had a little ad on. our little fisole(who i watched for a week while nola was spending time with her grand daughter(usually she watches him a couple evenings and the weekends) he is a real cute east indian 2 year old.

but the night was wonderful and i almost held it together for the most part. until brett said a speech. then i wanted todo one too and i couldnt. they gave us the best gifts ever and skyla presented us with some really cute baby pumkin patch clothes and, while rehearsed the words from her mouth were adorable(as she is handing us the clothes) " you guys have to make babies now" hahaha. she is so cute.
we got to get the girls ready for bed and we each took turns reading skyla her books. she got EXTRA stories that night. kalen even read teh same book three times to her. i couldnt stop balling the whole time so it took a litle while to get through the three books. skyla just kept saying 'its ok drwittney, you can be sad, but read the book' hhahahaha she is so funny

saying good-bye to those little ones was one of the hardest things i have ever had to do in my life. we became really close to that family and hope that we can keep in touch and maybe they will be able to come and experince cananda one day in friendly manitoba. maybe skyla can be our nanny.

we love everyone in good old canberra and will miss you all very much

today we went to this place called Cockington Green. its a place with ll these european miniature villages. its was really cool. there is a train that drives around the whole place that you can hop on. its sooo cute. we had lunch at a wonderful cafe called 'Injoy.'

we also had a look in some of the local shops. they had a really great leather shop. and this funny camel statue that kallen sort of resembles. he said it reminded him of kyle with its missing teeth.

so the other night we had tamara and the girls over for dinner. for desert we had a choclate fondue. this is skyla and keevas first fondue ever. and boy did they love it!!!! skyla even licked her plate clean. hahahaha

so we got to attend a rugby match. it was sooo much fun. the guy next to us, liam , helped us out so much and filled us in on all the rules. i (brittney ) caught on very fast and was right in there boo-ing and cheering the canberra raiders on. hahaha. kallen had a blast as well. its a great fast pace game. i wish we had rugby instead of football. football is for sissy's
